Part P Building Regulations/Foundation TrainingThe very beginning of your training will bring your knowledge up to that of a general domestic electrical installer. City & Guilds 2382-12 17th Edition Wiring RegulationsNext, you will learn about the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations, a vital qualification for any electrician. This City & Guilds-accredited certificate will not only prove to employers that you have the required knowledge, it will also assist you in joining a Competent Person Scheme – crucial if you wish to become a certified electrician.
City & Guilds 2377 Portable Appliance TestingPAT testing is another essential aspect of your course, and is vital to not just electricians but anyone working with the maintenance of electrical appliances. You will be taught not only how to test and inspect appliances, but also the managerial aspect to PAT testing.
City & Guilds 2392 Fundamental Inspection & TestingWhile a career as an electrical inspector can lead to a very high income, attaining these qualifications can be difficult. However, success will be in your grasp as this City & Guilds qualification teaches you the all-important groundwork of inspecting and testing electrical installations in domestic, commercial and industrial situations. Completion will allow you to initially test and verify installations, with the ability to sign them off as safe.
City & Guilds 2395 Inspection & TestingFollowing on from the previous qualification, you will now progress toward one of the highest possible achievements an electrician can aim toward. The 2395 Inspection and Testing qualification (formerly 2391) builds upon what you have already learned by covering more in-depth theory and calculations, as well as how to issue period certificates for tested installations. Despite the steep learning curve and difficult exams, our pass rate is more than double the national average.
Once you have inspected the work you’ll be able to then recommend any remedial work that needs carrying out – something you will have become qualified to do earlier in the course. By qualifying as an electrical inspector, you will effectively be able to self-generate your own work.
